How to enable system tray icons


  1. Open up the software center and search for dconf-editor. Install.
  2. Press Alt - F2 type dconf-editor press enter.
  3. Click on desktop - unity - panel.
  4. Where it says systray-whitelist, just highlight everything in the brackets and type in all and press enter.
Make sure it saves in there and then log out and back in and your done.



Command line version


Open up terminal and copy and paste:
gsettings set com.canonical.Unity.Panel systray-whitelist "['all']"
